Try explaining that to the suits who won't accept that average joe public won't enjoy an action film without someone who has blades grow out of his arms. It's just typical over the top blockbuster bullshit... that's what they do. Those guys have been ruining good movies since 1969 haha.

Haha... is there any specific reason why you chose the year 1969? I agree with you though. Its the same reason why in the first Fast and the Furious movie Vin doesn't just drive a Dodge Charger ... he drives one with a huge fucking blower that pops wheelies.

And didn't those blades just reek of Mortal Kombat?

I just chose 1969 cause of those parody's that used to be on alot of tshirts and shit... Like "Beer getting ugly woman laid since 1969" it's always the same year for some reason.

Its all about the actors in a way though and how they look and act the parts. Robert Downey completely sold the part of Tony Stark and Iron Man for me. I probably wouldnt have liked the movie had they picked someone else. Same with Bale as Batman and Ledger as Joker although the movie was good anyways.

It was ok. I'm glad I didn't have high expectations. It gave a good insight as to how Wolverine came about. Ironicly, I watched X-2 and 3 a little yesterday, and this movie ties in with the original 3 pretty well. Explains alot.

I hated what they did to Deadpool too. He's one of the coolest charactors. I loved playing him in MUA just to see what he'd say next.

It's not a bad movie, but it's not even close to Iron Man or Spider Man calibur.

Figured I'd throw this in this form. I absolutely loved the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance. How cool does the second one look? I mean... they're actually incorporating the Civil War story line into it! I'll have to do some looking around and see if I can come up with a cast of confirmed characters...

MUA 2 does look a lot better than the first one. I think its mostly becaues they are taking full advantage of the next gen consoles this time around instead of supporting last gen consoles as well as next gen, or current gen I guess its called now. Should be a fun game to get together with TMAers and play. I didnt much care for the first one but it was fun to play with other people.

Also the ironic thing about the Wolverine movie and game is that most would agree the game is better than the movie. Its funny to actually hear/read that sentence. I think history has been made. And I was reading earlier today that Hugh Jackman actually brought over lines from the game to the movie which is awesome. Apparently even he knew the game was going to be better.

Man, it sucked pretty bad. The special effects were inexcusably bad for a movie like this. Other than that, a lot of shit was stupid and didn't make any sense. Deadpool was good in the beginning and then they went and fucked him up. Gambit and Blob were both well done, character-wise, but more time for Gambit would've been nice.

I didn't realize that "Agent Zero" = Maverick (is it me or are they trying to change the identities of all 90s characters in the comics?) until I looked him up on Wikipedia earlier today. And who gives a shit that he's not Asian?

I did some searching through the Marvel Universe Database ... Agent Zero and Maverick are two, albeit similar characters.

Agent Zero:
Agent Zero is a mutant who can absorb the kinetic energy of an impact within certain limits without injury to himself. Zero must then release the energy he absorbs and can channel it as blasts of concussive-corrosive energy via an acidic enzyme secreted from his fingertips. This enzyme was specifically designed by the Weapon X Program to counteract an opponent’s self-healing abilities by reversing the process so that the more an opponent attempts to heal an enzyme-inflicted wound, the worse it becomes. Zero is also able to channel absorbed energy into raw strength, allowing him to deliver blows ten times stronger than normal.

Like other members of the Weapon X Program, Zero’s D.N.A. contains an age suppression factor that greatly retards his aging process. Subsequent modification by the Program has removed all discernable scent from his body

Maverick
Chris Bradley could absorb ambient static electricity from the atmosphere. Typically, Chris’ body harmlessly expended this energy; however, he was able to store and release it for a variety of effects, such as obscuring his features, channeling it through conductive material, forming protective shields, or generating electric arcs. Chris was also able to absorb electricity from electricity-generating sources to empower himself.

There are so many different characters that a lot of them seem to overlap one another. Looking at there photos they even kind of look like one another.

"Wolverine Game Impacted the Movie
Raven says its product affected Fox's film, for better or worse.
by IGN Staff

May 4, 2009 - The recently released X-Men Origins: Wolverine film, which grossed $87M over its opening weekend, was in some ways impacted by the development of its companion videogame. This is according to comments from Dan Vondrak, project lead at Raven Software for its multiplatform X-Men Origins: Wolverine game.

"We were writing our own scripts before the movie had a script, but then when we started getting drafts of the film script, there were influences there from our game," said Vondrak, via Geek.com.

He said he was aware of the stigma attached to most games tied to movies, and hoped things could be different with this game, since it was in production before Fox stepped in. "A lot of movie license games have sucked," said Vondrak. "They have been rushed and a lot of people just think slapping a license on a box is all they have to do. For us, Wolverine was a passion project. We approached this with, 'Wow, let's make the greatest Wolverine game ever' and then it just happened to become a movie game."

The impact of the game on the movie, according to Vondrak, went as far as determining which personalities were included and which weren't. "When we saw the trailers for the film there were certain characters – and I won't name names — that we think we're responsible for that dude getting in the game and getting in the movie," he said. "It's pretty cool to see these influences from game to film, although no one (from Fox) will admit that.""

Don't have any plans to see this in the theater, too many people claiming that it is bad or just okay, along with all those bad reviews.  I am just not interested in supporting its box office take if they are going to just keep putting out inferior products.  I enjoyed Xmen 1 and 2 but thought X3 was just okay ... The best way to get up to date on Wolverine's origin is to pick up the comic, Weapon X.

from what I was told, that was supposed to be Maverick.. like I said tho, I watched a hacked up bootleg, and what I saw seemed to be more like Maverick than Agent Zero

when it comes to these Marvel movies, they've done some of the best casting I've ever seen.. like Xizor said, Robert Downey Jr. was just perfect for Tony Stark/Iron Man.. and so was Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, him being a smartass and all. and Kelsey Grammer as Beast was just ingenious, 'cause he was absolutely perfect with his intellectual manner. and Patrick Stewart.. there was a guy I used to talk to online, and he always said that Patrick Stewart was hand-picked by God to play Professor X. it almost seems too obvious, 'cause he's like the comic character come to life... its just weird

Sounds like I should pick up a copy of Wolverine for the PS3. Sounds like these guys are really trying with this one. I have to agree with OutOfOrder if I like a game, even if its a single player game, I'll play it through a couple of times.

Here is the latest Marvel Movie News. Sounds like things are shaping up and looking pretty good!

Marvel Entertainment reported its First Quarter earnings today and gave a few updates on its upcoming movies during the company's quarterly conference call.

Iron Man 2 is, of course, already filming for a May 7, 2010 release, but Marvel said this morning that the Kenneth Branagh-directed Thor is scheduled to start filming in the First Quarter of 2010. No formal offers have been made to actors, though they said that casting announcements are likely the next few months. Thor is targeted for a May 20, 2011 release.

Marvel added that The First Avenger: Captain America, to be directed by Joe Johnston, is scheduled to start filming in the summer of 2010 for a July 22, 2011 release.

In an interview with Empire magazine, Marvel's President of Production Kevin Feige talked about The Avengers as well:

"Zak Penn is already on board The Avengers [as writer] and he's spending a lot of his time looking into what we're doing with Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, seeing how we're tying it all together. And he's beginning to outline the script now – he'll be doing that over the summer."

The Avengers is coming to theaters on May 4, 2012.

These three films (Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers) should all be five star films. I believe they're all in house Marvel productions ... basically the reason why Iron Man turned out so fucking good!

I can't wait. I love the way Marvel is finally going to start bringing all these characters together. It'll be interesting to see if Marvel can pull the distribution rights to some of the other characters (namely Spider-Man and The X-Men) away from there respective studios and have them make a cameo in The Avengers.

Now Im all for The Avengers movie. God I hope they dont fuck that one up.

To me honestly the best Marvel movies have been the animated ones theyve been releasing the last couple years like The Ultimate Avengers one and two, Iron Man, and even the Hulk Vs movies were ok. Live action is cool and all but I think animation works best for a comic book setting.
