Its the small things that make us happy

I have been trying to figure out how I am going to put this, so I will just come out and ask...

What would you like to see in a video game that was maybe touched on a little bit but not enough, or maybe something we havent even seen yet in a video game. Here are some things id like to be more focused on in the future.

Bosses - Lets take Twisted Metal. I would love to play the real DarkTooth from TM2. And What about Gears 1 and 2? They allow you to play as RAAM and Skorge in the game, but they are just their skins. I would love to play as the real General RAAM in online multiplayer, maybe in certain levels only? Or maybe just give him a limited area to free roam on. Balance it out of course but make it interesting. LOTR Conquest had an evil campaign allowing you to play as the evil "heroes" but it wasnt really expanded upon. Maybe in RE playing as Tryant / Nemesis in a RE game muliplayer vs.

Cigs - I know MGS had the option and I dont even remember MGS4 if it had the cigs or not I believe it did. But these games are all trying to be realistic as possible. Why not give the option to smoke too? Just a lil tidbit that I would like to see more in video games

Cross Platform online play - Cmon. This definately needs to happen. Not everyone has a decent PC or a X360 or a PS3. Lets make Multiplatform games cross platform for multiplayer. It would definately not make people want to get 2 versions of one game just so he can play with different sets of friends.

Zombies - Make me a real game where we play as the walking dead. I know there was Stubbs the zombie, L4D (Bosses only as of now), and a future game was planned but little is know or eve whether it will be released or not at this point - Posession.  But give me a game where we are the apocalypse. We can infect humans, feast on corpses, throw toxic body parts, puke acid on the living. Become part of a horde of thousands trashing the streets. breaking through doors, coming up from the grave. Sounds like fun. Still havent had a really decent zombie game where you are the zombie. Maybe not make it its own game but make it part of a secondary campaign mode or multiplayer mode for online or LAN games, doesnt have to be the main game because its hard having a good story line with a game like that, but make a secondary seperate campaign or a zombie multiplayer mode or something

Epic Battles - I have yet seen a game with a REALLY epic battle. I wanna control the Death Star or command Ship in Star Wars Game. Anyone seen the flash vide MK vs SF 3 where MK's Chameleon fights Akuma and the battle lasts forever? Thats another example of something I am talking about. Or maybe a battle of the gods and we are tossing planets at eachother or whole suns blasting your enemy. Sounds corny i know but I think it would be a fun thing to be able to do.

What do you think? Add some of your own.

Real Blood and Gore - The ability to kill anybody as you wish. Many games have interesting ways of dying. But none of them had blood and gore to them. Example: I've always liked to see how gored it'd be when Mario would just fall to his death. Could be something like a good splash of blood coming up from the surface. Or how it'd be when Samus would shoot a missle at somebody and not just an explosion.

Cross-Platform Fighting - Think Super Smash Bros and Marvel vs Capcom. How awesome would it be to pitch say, Kratos vs Master Chief for example. Something similar. Could expand the cross-platforming battles. We're all waiting still on a MK vs SF.

Otherwise, good ideas so far.

Cross-platforming is a must.

I love tons of shit happening on screen constantly so I would want a huge scale sword and shield first person war game. Mount & Blade tried it but it's shit. We need something next gen with like 200 player servers. It would be virtual LARPing but it would be awesome.

I'd like to see a video game directed by a big name Hollywood director. Give me a game directed by Quentin Tarantino ... that shit would have style.

I'd also like to see real actors doing voice over work for games. We're starting to get a little of this, the dad in Fallout 3. That blows the shit out of the developers just grabbing some random voice actor.

Also ... a double bladed chainsaw.

First off aside from PC/360 there probably will never be cross-platform online gaming.

As far as bosses go, I do enjoy a good boss fight, but a lot of times they just arent done well and after the first time get boring. Most of the time they just feel out of place within the game itself. Now if you can do a boss fight well and make it fun then I am all for it.

Grindhouse, most of the stuff you want has already happened or is happening. We did have Clive Barkers Jericho, although I dont know if he actually directed it.

There are already TONS of games with famous actors doing voice work and have been for a while now. I dont think youre going to see Tom Cruise voicing a character anytime soon, but not to many A list actors are into yet.

And there was a double bladed chainsaw in RE5. I dont think it was used in the game but I saw one sitting on a table near the beginning of the game.

Gore: Definetly better gore. Aside from Gears gore is usually over the top but I would like a more realistic take on it.

Here are mine:

Death animations: I want better death animations and reactions when someone is getting hit, stabbed, or shot. GTA 4s engine does a pretty good job of making the characters react realistically to whatever is happening to them, but I want games where people dont die from getting shot in the leg or arm.

It would be cool to shoot someone in the leg and they go down and try to crawl away or shoot or cut someones arm off and they have to switch hands with whatever weapon they are carrying.

You could have all kinds of different reactions to getting shot or stabbed like some characters screaming in pain or beggin you not to kill them or maybe they even shoot themselves or ask you to finish them off. Or you shoot some guys down and he crawls behind cover and acts dead and waits for you to get close and then tries to kill you.

Ive always wanted an RTS game where you still have the overhead view but then once you issue commands to your troops you can warp down into the characters and actually play as them in first person. You could still go to the overhead view at any time and the AI would take over again and you could also jump into any character or vehicle on the map and once you die you could just pick another character or vehicle to play as.

Better AI-with all thats gotten so much better with this current generation of gaming we still havent seen many improvements in the AI department. I want devs to start finding ways to make the AI impressive and really difficult without just making the tough, have incredible accuracy, and bitchy. FEAR 1 was a prime example of AI done right but I dont know what happened with 2.

Enviornmental destruction-I think now that ragdoll physics and real world physics are pretty much standard and the norm, its time to take the next step by making the game world destructable in ways that make sense. There are some games recently that have done a pretty good job like Battlefield: Bad Company and The Force Unleashed that come to mind right away, but I dont think this idea has been given a complete touch of realism like a lot of other things in games.

Red Faction for the PS2 had the most advanced engine Ive ever seen still to this day with the Geo-mod engine but its never been used again since. Red Faction 2 coming soon looks to satisfy on some levels but its not quite the same as it was in the old game.

Customizable controls for console games. Why cant we do this yet?

Your first person RTS thing has been tried but failed. I believe they're also developing a new game based around that idea too.

Yeah it hasnt been done anywhere close to the way I envision it. I think that new R.U.S.E. game is supposed to be like that, I dont know, but I doubt its what Im wanting. I dont know if we even have to tech yet to pull it off honestly.

There was one series called Savage but it's a little different. One person acts as a "god" who controls the game RTS style while all the other players act as the units on the ground.  The God guy casts spells and builds things while the others fight and destroy shit. Neat idea but again it wasn't well thought out.

The double bladed chainsaw was from RE4. In merc mode, the super boss of water world was a special chainsaw potato sack guy who could move fast and was darker than the regular ones... he weilded that double chainsaw that appears as an easter egg on a table in RE5.
