But nah seriously, game is good, just not even remotely close to being Survival horror, and yeah the characters and story I agree (terrible)

I picked up the super duper collectors edition for the PS3 the other day, it came with the two disc version of the game, a Chris action figure, a necklace, a Tricila (sp) tote bag, and a BSSA sew on patch. Was it worth the $80.00 for all that extra shit... probably not, but who cares.

As for the game... I've not spent enough time with it to be able to put out a full review, I've only spent about two hours playing it. So far I'm liking it much more than the demo I played on the 360. That is mostly due to the controller. I love the 360's Dreamcast inspired controller ... but the PS3 is like old faithful, its so easy to pick up and use. It seemed to work much better (for me) than the 360 did.

Gameplay wise... its not as bad as I originally thought. I'm going to go through and beat the game solo ... then jump online and play with some friends. So far Sheva (sp) is next to worthless. I can see how this game would be a major blast to play through online, though.

On another topic... when does the Ghostbusters game come out? Anyone else looking forward to this one?

Yeah, I myself have been playing Resident Evil 5 the past 2 days, PS3 version though.  I don't own it, it's just a rental.  It's worth a rental for sure, and it's a good game, but so far it's not nearly as immersive as the previous games.   Sheva is hot, Chris is a great character, and the punching system and everything is straight up, basic, and a good foundation.

Besides all of that, the levels feel very linear, as opposed to previous REs being linear, but not literally straight on one course, the lack of really good puzzles (so far) plays a factor also, and I do think the next RE needs to evolve a little more past 96, but it's still a solid game worth at least a rent, more if you're a huge fan of the series.  I'm still playing it and enjoying it, but for some reason I can't play it straight for hours, Savage Moon or Fallout 3 will distract me.

Yeah, I haven't been an RE fan since RE2, and the RE5 demo didn't catch my interest. I might rent it down the road.

I just know it's an ARG based in Home, just like the link says. I've been tempted to log in to Home and check it out, but I haven't used Home since I installed it. If I needed disk space it would be the first thing to go. Although that arcade game with the trains is kinda fun.

I tried the RE5 demo and just wasn't impressed at all. It seems like they've gone backwards from RE4, which was great. I think Dead Space sort of feels like the game RE5 should've been. Also, what's up with taking the "survival" out of survival horror? Nothing's scary when you've got a full arsenal and lots of ammo. I couldn't take F.E.A.R. seriously for the same reason.

Actually, I haven't been inside Home since they took voice chat away.  They've added a few things since then but nothing that'll keep me in there for any extended period of time.  If I had unlimited download, it might be a different story, but I'm not going to waste my time until something much more fun is inside Home honestly.  Virtual paintball/lasertag.

RE5 literally made me jump once though, first game to do that in a while.  But that's only because I hate snakes so damn much.

I'm a serious RE fan as you all know. I'm now in the hard difficulty about a little over halfway.

There's no fucking way I'm gonna try to play the War hero difficulty with AI. I'll wind up breaking the disc, or my controller 1st. I might wind up not trying at all.

It really is a shame. I guess RE1, RE2, RE3, RE4 spoiled me.
