Title: Twisted Trax. Favorite tracks from each game. Post by †Adonael on 12/05/20 at 23:01:29
Twisted Metal:
Cyburbia slide is my top TM track with the Theme being runner up. https://youtu.be/ha3GKef9ug4?t=1163 Runner up: https://youtu.be/ha3GKef9ug4 Twisted Metal 2 LA for my numba 1. Its hard for me to choose a favorite for TM2 but I feel like this is the song I think of most when I think of the game. Honorable mention to Antarctica. https://youtu.be/sLFok2t605k My runner up for TM2 is none other than New York. This track felt epic like a huge final battle was about to occur. But as we all know that happened in hong kong instead ;) https://youtu.be/r7naLGn2o_k Twisted metal Small Brawl Shock Therapy is my favorite here and really hits home. Such a great track. https://youtu.be/IA-KfHiu-jI Runner up has to be easy death oven. Has some of that classic TM feel to it. https://youtu.be/1An8U3LvnOw Twisted Metal Black Suburbs always felt awesome to me in a haunting way. I love this track https://youtu.be/Jumoh5V_IOU Warhawk is my runner up. It was a nice song to get pumped to while fighting well warhawk and made an already interesting fight more epic. https://youtu.be/mjOkEvpCI1c Twisted Metal: Head On Monaco. Guitar rifts and a good beat. Its kind of hard with head on because a lot of the tracks, while good are not very appealing to me personally, but Monaco hits the right notes. https://youtu.be/u9tRSvg4SPM Runner up is Paris with its orchestral sounding track. Very reminiscent of warhawk in someways. https://youtu.be/9lgwkZJ9G3c |

TM1
Drop Dead. Not only is it the most unique track in that game, but it is also the one that has aged the best from a composition standpoint. TM2 The Drop Zone. Another unique track in the context of its game that has aged fairly well. TM3/TM4 I don't acknowledge these games in any way, shape or form. Small Brawl Playground Peril. I actually like this one for opposite reasons from the above two. It's dated sounding in a good way, and it has a lot of energy that just makes me want to be a kid again. TMB Steady Impulse. One of the most chaotic-sounding tracks in the game, and the mix of influences just sort of works better than the rest of the tracks I heard on this thing. (I'm not including Paint It Black, because that feels like cheating. Rolling Stones is hard to beat in general.) Head-On Russia. I'm in the same camp as the OP in that a lot of the tracks don't resonate with me despite how "good" they are on a technical level, but this one leaves enough of an impression to stand out. 2012 Shell. This is the best post-90s TM track by a country mile. It captures a lot of the chaos and fun of the old games while weaving in some of the darkness and terror introduced in Black, and I feel like it really epitomizes the atmosphere of its game. (Which was one of the better aspects of that one, comparatively speaking.) |
