What's up TM fam!? If you haven't signed the petition to remaster TM1 and TM2, please do so below! It went from 250 signatures to almost 900 signatures just from yesterday! Those are rookie numbers, we need to bump them up! Let's get it over 1,000 today!

https://www.change.org/p/sony-remaster-twisted-metal-playstation-classics

Most of the signatures are coming from the Twisted Metal Fan Club group.

A sequel to Black was in development, called Twisted Metal Black: Harbor City, which included third-person control of Sweetooth's character out of his vehicle and a bunch of other new features. Unfortunately, this game was cancelled because of the majority of its development team died in a plane crash. This most likely would have had the franchise dramatically grow in popularity and a remaster might have already been made if this tragedy didn't commence.

What the fuck? Either the guy is a casual TM player without any idea of the game's foundations... or he really fell for the bait.

A simple constructive disagreement would have been fine but sure, let's be an asshat instead.

They need to modernize the gameplay and balance. The levels also would probably be too small. They would need to change alot but keep the old aesthetic.

I'm in agreement 100% with you on this!

This isnt a bad idea in thought, but in practice it is.

To remaster a game with modern standards it's going to take Sony millions. Simple fact is that's the cost of even a budget title now and days.

Now look at the TMX debacle. TMX didnt sell well, and also hurt the brand due to the issues following launch.

Sony and other companies hold this in high regard.

They might not see it as a viable reason to remake these titles even if they sold well in the past. Simply the world is a different place now.

It's one giant baby waiting to cry when you say something slightly offensive.

Fuckin people.

Okay, but to be clear, that story is FAKE.

It NEVER happened.

Come on now, don’t be hard on the guy. It’s an alternative fact. There’s no such thing as truth or falsehood; there are merely topics of disagreement. After all, you can’t be constructive without accepting the unquestioned validity of everyone’s statements and beliefs!

I don't want to be a dick, but "constructive disagreement" is moot in this case. It's fake. It's wrong.

It's not about being sensitive, it's about respect. I updated the petition so know one will give me anymore shit about this.

Ya know, Brawl is only a few pages away. If ya really wanna disagree about something, that's the place to do it.

You wanna see asshat? I make em.

I'm over this, lol. I've said what I needed to say. This community seems to be a little toxic and maybe that's part of the reason reason why it's died out.

Except it isn't as toxic as you play it out to be. We just know facts and don't cater to sensitive snowflakes, period.

Yeah, it's always been a little Twisted, but few of us called you names. We just didn't want that stupid story to keep being spread. Some of it was for you and your petition's sake as it makes YOU look stupid.

Anyway, most of the posts are on the Brawl page or on the Discord server. Further, the real reason the community died is because the series died. We haven't seen an amazing entry since 2001.

Good luck with the petition.

Yep, this.
This site would actually have returned to being much more than a forum, like it was back in 2001, but Twisted Metal 2012 dropped the ball and the webmaster decided not to bother, although he did make a TMA YouTube page of TM2012 videos, and he added a TMX-only discussion forum, so it's not like he didn't try to promote it, but the game wasn't popular and TMX's community was not large enough to justify the amount of work hours it takes to create a brand new TMA, and David Jaffe's negative attitude towards hardcore fans trying to use them as scapegoats was the final nail in the coffin that made the webmaster turn away from TM for good. But the TMA Discord server and TMBO revival server have kept the community alive.

I just really don't care for the perception that TM fans became toxic and that it hurt the community somehow. That's total bullshit. The decline of the series hurt the community because many fans became realistic about the direction/lack of direction of the series and gave up.
And hardcore TM fans were always disturbed. Lets not act like hardcore fans weren't "toxic" even back in 2001 when the series thrived. I wont mention names, but there were some hardcore TM fans then that were downright nightmarish characters, but it's easier to overlook when a series is going well.

Really this forum wasn’t much different than a lot of communities back in the old days of late ‘90s “web surfing,” it’s just like you said Twisted Metal got stale. I’d say Small Brawl was the metaphorical botched passing of the ball, Head-On actually dropped the ball, and TM2012 kicked it over the fence into Mr. Jaffe’s yard next door.

Signed it. If they could have the gameplay of 2 intact and maybe have the same gameplay for 1 that would be swell.
I dont get why people are angry at OP. Wasnt the sweetooth thrid person mode in the extra twisted edition of Head On Harbor City? Or its the idea that the deaths were staged?

The God damn problem is this new generation cant take blunt comments. Instead you act like its attacking you personally than looking at the big picture and argue in vain about everyone else being the problem.

You need to see the bigger picture and quit focusing on yourself.

I still dont get the reason why such comments arised in the first place. Apparently it has to do with the third person route the series was going to take comment which isnt basically confirmed in the Twisted Edition of Head On?

Kilrahi and Mosh are spot on. Kilrahi's was short and sweet but, Mosh Got his hands dirty and laid it out.

It also didn't help either, one of our long standing members went completely fucking nuts. Yea Hellbent you troll. I'll name names.

I'll also agree with Adoneal too. People do not have thick skin like back in the day. Sense of humor too.

Toxic can be fun, its one of the reasons that kept this site going all these years even through the bad times, (when servers of TMBO were shut down).

I believe the thin skinned are far fewer than many.

What are you even talking about?

The ONLY thing we pointed out is that the "death" story is bogus.

Oh really? What is the reason of the cancellation of the sequel then?
