Title: any Alice in Chains fans here?

I made a tribute album to Alice in Chains. You can listen/download it for free. They were among my favorite bands growing up. They are still active actually, working on new material, but I'll always miss singer Layne Staley, who would have been 50 years old now had he not died from heroin. damn opioids! Jerry Cantrell's solo albums were pretty good too... they're underrated records. anyway, if you're a fan, check out my tribute record

Man I love Alice in Chains, although I really haven't bothered to listen the newer albums, I just don't see much point without Layne. I should listen to them anyway since the songs I've heard are mainly sung by Cantrell and Duvall is just like backing vocals.

Also, I attend tribute shows very frequently with my friend, that's the only thing I get cause they've never bothered to come to my country. There's a kinda big scene for AIC (and Grunge in general) tribute concerts in my city.

I'll be sure to check out your tribute album, man.

I agree about post-Layne AIC not being the same. I never really got into those 2 records, Black Gives Way to Blue & The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. I probably only listened to those records a couple times each, thus why on my tribute record I didn't use a song from either. I know Jerry Cantrell is really the main songwriter of the group but without Layne it lacks something, and Duvall, while a talented singer, doesn't fill that void at all. On the other hand, I do love Jerry Cantrell's solo records, Boggy Depot & Degradation Trip (& his single from The Cable Guy soundtrack).
