Twisted Metal Black: Online – Server Rebirth Features:

No disconnections after one match
All vehicles unlocked from the get go

Twisted Metal Black: Online – Server Rebirth Current Issues:

Unable to change account password/account name
Room joining/firewall issues
Multiple PS2s on the same WAN/LAN/Router may have issues joining a room on the same LAN or a room with the other PS2(s) on the same LAN inside it
Rooms with a password. Anyone may join the passworded room regardless if it has a password or not

How do I experience the TMB:O - Server Rebirth?

If you're using the Network Adapter Start-Up Disc v1.0 to create a network profile and aren't tech-savvy, you'll have a more difficult time setting yourself up. On that disc, DNS addresses can only be setup as a part of fully manual settings. They can't be setup alongside automatic settings.

Most routers' LAN IPs default to 192.168.1.1. So the following manual settings should do the trick for for anyone using that version of the start-up disc:

IP Address: 192.168.1.x (x can be almost anything between 2 and 255)
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Default Router Address: 192.168.1.1
Primary DNS Address: 173.198.252.240
Secondary DNS Address: 0.0.0.0

The TMB:O - Server Rebirth configuration settings are as follows:

Primary DNS Address: 173.198.252.240
All other settings: default or automatic.

Forwarding of ports 10070 and 10075 (UDP/TCP) to your PS2/PS3 LAN IP address (from within your router) is recommended for full enjoyment of the TMB:O - Server Rebirth.

Magnum, you threw your PS2 and PS3 in the garbage!? WTF man! I don't even want to know what you did to your copy of TMB:O.

pmasterBR, It's nice to see that you connected to the server and got into a game room with no problem. I'm also glad you enjoyed the server with your friend and played a few hours. You and your friend should consider trying some damaged based score modes and seeing what a few of the smaller levels have to offer.

Not sure where you got that impression from, but it is possible to setup primary and secondary DNS IPs via the network adapter start-up disc (aka v1.0) :).

While creating a network profile, after selecting "High Speed Connection (Cable or DSL)" at the connection type screen, just select "Manual Settings" at the choose settings screen. It'll proceed to the following screen:

Nevertheless, it should still be feasible for anyone with that disc to setup a manual configuration that'll work with the revival server.

I didn't throw them away! I used my PS2 and PS3 for trade in for XB1.

There is no way in burning hell I would ever give up my copy of TMBO. That is here with alot of my special memorabilia. It is the original disc in the cardboard cover I was given for free, for doing the Beta test for it back in 2002. Along with the letter of thanks from Sony.

That shit is never getting sold. Scold had the pleasure of checking it out when he visited in September.

Tested and confirmed. I made it to your name and password screen then shut the ps2 off. I should note that it didn't work the first time, and read "connection could not be established" I pressed X to try again and it worked the second time.

Is the name and password to be permanent? Or is that something we will have to do every time? I figured it's something we'll have to do every time so I stopped at there and didn't make one.

I was able to get on to the server w my ps2 no problem. There were two rooms in the lobby named James, I was able to join rooms but not join games. I started a game and played w some bots... Its been about 8 years sivce ive seen the post game damage screen. Thanks for getti ng this going. Looking forward to playing some live games in the future. :)
