Yep. That's pretty much what I described SynthR.

Here is stuff I listen to:

Dream Theater. Best band on the planet. Don't refute that statement or I'll stab you while you sleep, watch you bleed out, cut your skin off, stretch it out to fit over the heads of my drums, and play Dream Theater cover songs using the skin of your dead body.  :)

Symphony X

Planet X. Just instrumental music. They are amazing musicians but the music probably either goes over most peoples head or just doesn't appeal the them. As a musician however I find them to be fascinating. Best drummer on the planet hands down.

You're not missing much with my music, Dizzy D. Child.

Even though I'm not a big rock/metal fan, once and a while I'll find someone I like. There's a group I discovered last year called Frost. I really like how their music is structured. Reminds me of Final Fantasy battle music. I have both of their albums.

Frost isn't that far off from most of the stuff I listen to. If you like that I'm sure I could find something in my collection you could get into. You seem more into the keyboard "synth" side of the music than they rocking guitars. Speaking of Final Fantasy battle music I finally found the FF battle victory music to use as a ringtone. Oh yes, now every time I get a call it feels like WIN!

I could have sent you any Final Fantasy shit you might have wanted and could have cut it into a short ringtone a long time ago!

With Frost, I really like their chord progressions and harmonies. Yea, they have some keyboards in there, but they're a sum of their parts. If you know of others that are similar I would be willing to check them out. I've loved Rammstein for a long time as well, but they have a keyboardist doing stuff too, lol. I totally don't like their new album though.

I used to be huge on Trance for years, but lost interest. It hasn't gone anywhere for years. It's the same shit over and over again. I like DnB as well, but I'm really picky. Drums don't cut it for me. I need a track to take me somewhere; to tell a story. Dirty bass riffs and noises don't cut it. I think I prefer Jungle more actually.

These days I just look for new talent that I haven't heard of. I use Last.fm a lot to see what's similar. I would love to use Pandora, but it's closed to anyone outside of the U.S.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of the black metal scene, especially one of my fav. bands Children of Bodom.  Some Dimmu Borgir here and there, with a bunch of others.  Also, can't go wrong with Rammstein, especially seeing as how the license plate on my car is DuHast haha.

In the spring and summer I'm pretty much exclusive to the techno, vocal trance and club mixes.

"Drums don't cut it for me. I need a track to take me somewhere; to tell a story."

I'm not sure if you meant for those two sentences to go together, but I find it hard to believe someone could prefer computer programs and synth or "fake" beats to real drums, real talent, and real musicianship. But hey. To each his own. Not to get into a heavy discussion about it because I fought the good fight for music for years and I'm done doing it. I've made no attempts to hide over the years that I don't consider techno or anything of that type actual music because nothing compares to listening to a real good drummer who belays passion and emotion to their beats in my opinion.

If you are talking about a drummer telling a story, pretty much all the drummers I listen to are dynamic enough to "tell a story" so to speak. Pretty much all the music, musicians, and drummers I listen to tell a story with just the music itself. That's a stipulation for me. I get bored to death of simple music that has the same structure, format, and beats the whole time. I want to get lost in the complexities of it all.

If you like the Frost for their harmonies and progressions I have lots of melodic medal so to speak. I'll look through some stuff if I stop being lazy.

I know you probably don't respect what I do with music or what I listen to and since you're a drummer (and alpha about everything), I can respect your opinion. What I was saying was when I listen to music I want to experience something. I don't feel anything when I listen to drums or guitar, just as you don't feel anything for my "simple" music.

I'm not just talking instruments either. It's the difference between someone enjoying country and another liking hip hop. Electronic music speaks to me. I "get" it. I embrace it. I don't know why, it just does. A complex drum pattern is impressive when played, but I don't feel it. Play me a standard 4/4 beat with a hard bassline and synths and I'll get out of my seat to dance.

I would like to disagree with your real talent and musicianship comment. Yes, I write music using computers. I write/program the drums, basslines, synth pads, leads, sfx etc etc. I arrange the entire song, mix it and master it. I know how to write a song and I understand and know musical theory. I fit under the category of a music producer. According to your definition, however, I'm neither a musician nor do I have talent. I don't understand this. Music comes in many forms and so do musicians. I can play instruments, but have chosen to write music digitally.

I'm not looking to get in a pissing contest, but what you said was extremely elitist and it felt like I was being look down upon.

I gotta agree here, and to field the comments thoroughly, I am an 'acoustic' musician, meaning I dont use any kind of technology to play an instrument for me (other than mics). but I do respect dj's and techno artists just the same for the simple fact that I know how complex making it can be. when I had my band, we had a friend of ours who did gabber-core (Aphex Twin, Goldie, etc.) temp on bass while our bassist was on probation (and curfew). when we got our bassist back, we decided to have the temp stay and do turntable/effects for us. so on top of our already heavy sound, we also had a hard techno sounds on top of it. I'm a fan of most genres out there, and have first-hand knowledge of how complex techno really is

Yeah, my bad. It's just an attitude I've had for years and its not directed at you specifically and while I will apologize for being a douche, I won't take back anything I said. I don't mean to insult you or your music cause its wrong for me to think I'm somehow better than you as a musician just because I can actually play multiple instruments. You know I respect the hell out of you, but that's just how a feel.

Sitting around composing stuff on a computer takes all the passion and emotion out of the process of creating music in my opinion though. Programming things isn't as fun to me personally, as actually "making" that music with an instrument as I've done both so I'm not just looking down on your music because I'm ignorant. Making beats on a synth, keyboard, or comp is nothing compared to getting a group of people together with instruments and finding that magic together as rhythms, beats, chords, all come together in sync. It is something that can't be described when you're jamming with a group and you find a really good groove or riff and just go with it and get lost in the moment; feeling the music you are using your own body to make flow through your body.

I just think those "techno" types of music don't push music forward and only hold it back. It just encourages people to be lazy and have computers and technology do all the work for them instead of taking the time to learn to play instruments. This is part of the problem with things like shitty rap music dominating the air waves now. But alas, this is the age we live in. People let technology do everything for them, and while technology has greatly enhanced music and continues to, at the same time it allows anyone these days to be a "musician".

And I like complex music playing on instruments because it not only challenges me as a musician to play it, but it also challenges my mind to understand it. The same 4/4 beat droning on and on puts me to sleep, and techno music, just to simply the term as I don't know what you crazy cats are calling your computer music these days, is the epitome of simplistic music and beats. The overly overly overly used boom ti, boom ti, boom ti beat should be banned from music all together. I'm not saying you or everyone in that genre does that, and I'm not oblivious to the fact that their are tons upon tons of cookie cutter shitty rock and metal bands, but it is a problem with those types of music...no thought, no passion. Hell, if you can find me something in the "electronica" genre that will change my mind I will gladly listen to it. I mean, I like the synth-y, electronic type sounds, especially when used to compliment that metal sound of guitars, bass, and drums, but usually only when played on a keyboard.

God damn, I say every time these things come up that I won't get on this kick but I find it almost irresistible. I have no right to criticize anyone elses opinions or music because it makes me look like an asshole, I am completely aware of that, but I'm sorry I just can't help but defend my standpoint on it all. You should have never said drums don't do anything for you, lol.

It's alright man. I agree with the "magic" of jamming together. When I used to play for the school band, there was something there that I've never been able to rediscover. Each person plays their part and you just feel connected. None of my friends are musicians, so I've never had that opportunity outside of school. Writing music digitally has allowed me to overcome having to need other people. I would love to collaborate with someone, but I've never found anyone as serious and open about it as I am. It sucks and I'm stuck in my ways. I get a lot of enjoyment putting a song together and isn't that what matters?

Anyway, don't worry. Everyone is passionate about something. I've had this fight with people a million times AND with people who have no ground to base their arguments on.

I'm the odd man out here in this convo.  I have no desire to play any instruments, and when I'm hanging out with friends and they decide to whip out the guitars and start playing, I'd just rather not be there... I find it very boring to watch people play instruments.  I love going to concerts, but just being around a bunch of people in a basement or something with no equipment other than a few acoustic guitars and MAYBE a drum set is just not my thing.  I love listening to music and I love how certain types of music can fit certain situations and make people's moods change, I also respect the talent that musicians have of all types, just can't stand when people have other friends over and decide to try to be a rockstar.

oh and p.s. - I can't stand music games either, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, etc... you couldn't get me to play any of those games for even a second.

I'm really dissapointed in Xizor's comment as well. If anything electronic music can be (depending on the artist), can be LESS lazy and MORE creative.

The "Learn how to play a real instrument and not a computer" is null, especially for me. I own/play/write my music on a Rolland JP 8000, which is a keyboard (synth). It has the layout of a piano, thus, I can also play the piano.

I'm not good at mastering my own music, I have my own producer, so I guess you can call me lazy there, but I know how SynthR does his music, and it's not fair at all to call him lazy.

Writing the music is only one half, a large half consisting of writing EVERYTHING, by himself. Drums, basslines, the chorus, verses, you name it. It takes skill to write melodies, even if you aren't doing it on a (real) instrument.

That's my two cents, I don't mean to start an argument.

Well you can be disappointed by my opinions all you like but like as I stated before, I won't take back what I've said because I believe in it and I meant it. I'm of an old school, purist mindset and much like an old man who can't program his VCR, I will not let new technology music undermine what is vital and important to what the art form has been since before electricity and modern science, and that is learning to play instruments, in conjunction with others if you like, and achieving something musically that can only be acquired by hard work, dedication, and talent.

Now, I can understand the composition part of doing things on a computer in order to get the sounds of a full band and make up for people/instruments you don't have on hand, but simply because you tell a computer to do it doesn't mean you can do any of that shit on your own in any concrete tangible fashion. It just means you know how to program a computer, keyboard, or whatever to do what you want it to do to make it sound like a real band or real music.

And saying that anyone who composes all parts/fake instruments on a computer/keyboard/whatever is somehow a genius is a far cry from the truth. I, myself, can play multiple instruments and I've written the guitar, bass, drum, vocal, and whatever else parts myself for songs in the past, but it still requires real people to put all that together in a live fashion and if I had a million limbs, I'd certainly try and pull it off. I've messed around with tech, beat makers, sound programs and other shit to make basic outlines of songs, but its never the same as a live band performing that same composition with actual talent, practice, and general music know how.

I appreciate wanting to do multiple things yourself because you don't have others to fill certain roles. Prince used to play all the instruments and parts on his old albums, the first Foo Fighters album was done entirely by Dave Grohl himself, and while that is impressive that they did all the sections and compositions themselves, when it came down to it they still played all that shit on real fucking instruments and not using a fucking computer.

I'm sorry but every time I look at new tech that's being used, demoed, or flaunted as the next big thing in DJ'ing and playing electronic, techno, or whatever, its always something to make doing that bullshit easier. How can someone progress as a "musician" when their chosen format is one that champions simplism and only the mastering of computer programs, triggers, and switches.

I'm sorry, but I went through a "techno" phase as a musician as well, but I quickly learned that it wasn't "the next step" in music as the mid 90 hype would have you believe and its not nearly as fulfilling as playing instruments either by myself or with others and creating something that transcends the confines of your own mind to become something more than the sum of its parts. Music has always been about emotional experiences and I just don't see how you can get that mastering a series of computer programs and technology that doesn't take the musical art form to any new levels but instead dumbs it down.

I'm not bashing anyone for liking underground music, in fact a lot of what I listen to is technically underground I guess...? But the term gets thrown around a lot and has turned into "oh this band is so amazing because only I have heard of them". Just because they've never been heard of doesn't mean they are good. Sometimes they've never "been heard of" because they suck.

Not really what I meant, I mean rappers that are mainstream let the money and fame get to their heads and rap about the same old bullshit all rappers rap about. Have you heard of Brother Ali, or Atmosphere? That's real rap..they rap about true shit.
Now as for rock music, I wouldn't say I listen to underground, but the shit I listen to isn't heard on radio stations. Maybe 93x depending what band it is...

there is a difference between a band that's underground a band that just plain sucks. I dont know anybody who only likes a band just for the exclusiveness of it... thats stupid middle school shit. when I said I like something "underground", its meant in the way that their style is something new and most labels havent sacked up enough to take a chance on them since its uncharted waters, so to speak

I won't say that I despise death metal, cause I love any and all things metal, but the death metal sub-genre is what I listen to the least. its just so damn monotonous... all the bands sound the same. bands like Deicide, Napalm Death, Six Feer Under, Cannibal Corpse.. I couldn't tell you who was who if someone put on the cd. i'd listen to it and enjoy it, but still don't really know one from the other

Napalm Death's last two were pretty good, but I can't stand Six Feet Under and Deicide. I find myself enjoying Cannibal Corpse's later work (now that they understand what a fucking song is) moreso than their earlier stuff.

I drift more into the Tech Death area these days, groups like Obscura, The Faceless and Augury all do some amazing shit with their instruments.

Yes, sadly, that is what ruins most metal for me as well. Singers usually break more so than make a band for me. To much metal has either retarded ass screamers or barkers as I call them and you can't understand anything, or they just plain sound retarded. Its sad because I often times find a band that has some pretty kick ass music but the singer just completely destroys it for me.

I have heard of KSE. Not a huge fan but they are ok. My band used to cover one of their songs at one point, not because we were lame and did cover songs, but because we were trying out a new singer and he liked them so we learned one of their songs so he would feel more comfortable playing with us. I don't even remember what the song was now.

Your language rocks. Alice is a fucking genius. There's probably only one album of his that he released that fucking sucked...and that was "Zipper Catches Skin" from '82(?). I found it on LP in a Vintage Stock for 9.99...obviously, it was the fact that it didn't chart on the Hot 200 that made it cost so much...because it was worth about a dime at the Salvation Army swap meet.

I do like hard rock/metal but I try to listen to every genre of music and keep an open mind. Rock, pop, jazz, soul, crooners (e.g. johnny mathis, dean martin)...

Must....stop....playing....song.......can't.....

I've probably listened to this at least a thousand times today but it is a new DT track after all. That intro/outro riff is perhaps the best metal riff I've heard in quite some time. I love how DT can take a simple concept or riff and just transform it and twist it into something so completely bad ass that you just want to punch someone in face on behalf of metal. It's so funny to me that DT can do metal better than most metal bands, but they don't technically consider themselves strictly a metal band.

You know shit is good when it gives you chills or goosebumps. That's when I know I'm listening to good shit. When the emotional impact ripples through my skin down to the bone. ::continues headbanging::

Grand Funk fucking rock. I have their "Red album" in my collection. Excellent fucking album.

Mag, what Alice albums do you own? You into his earlier stuff or into the "Trash" - Present era? Sucks that he drifted off into semi-obscurity in the early 80's (Special Forces didn't make the Top 100, Zipper Catches Skin and Dada didn't chart at all...) and then at the end of the decade, he makes a huge comeback with "Trash" then goes back into obscurity with "Hey Stoopid" and "The Last Temptation"...sad.

You ever listened to Krokus? I found their "Headhunter" LP at Salvation Army in near-mint condition...and for a dime. Salvation Army is king. Buy everyones old record collection piece by piece for a dime.

Back in the day, the only Alice Album I owned was Trash. Being a ignorant, hairmetal teenager, I wasn't into listening into "old people stuff" As I got older and heard "Nightmare" and all that, and found out it was Alice, I felt pretty dumb. So I just started digging into 60's-70's music that the hair bands said rocked them out. It does suck that he went back downhill after Trash. Stoopid was ok. Pretty much after that is when the Grundge era hit, and that was that for hair.

See.....your talking to a teenage pothead that thought Billy Squire's "Loney is the Night" was Zepplin. Only because the crowd I hung out with would rag me for getting bands wrong, so I never asked about to much music. No internet to search, and being lazy to do real research kept me in the dark about alot of bands.

I'm not talking huge names like Kiss, Arosmith, Zepplin etc....... talkin like Deep Purple, Jefferson Airplane, Lynard, Eagles, Bowie, and stuff like that. Now those aren't "obscure" by any means. It is when your a fucking dumb ass ignorant fuck that won't open his mind up.

Now I'm pretty much a radio head, so I don't have albums. I just thank daily the station I listen to taught me the roots of where my teenage ears came from. I'm really thankfull for that. Youtube has also become my modern MTV. I was thinking of getting a few albums/cd's but....I've fallen out of that phase. I guess I'm missing out.

I actually seen Krokus at a concert when they opened up for Motley Crue and Bulletboys. Good stuff man. I also liked how they re-did Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz"  Yea....and I thought they made the song back in the day.

It's all good, man. When I was growing up as a young impressionable kid in the 90's, I was closed-minded as all hell. I only listened to the ultra-annoying "Top 40" stations (more like Top 5...) that played the same songs in a continous loop. I broke out of that phase as soon as the boy bands and shit hit. When Britney Spears, BSB, N'Sync and Ricky Martin ruled the airwaves I definitely decided to open my mind to music that was actually music.

Hey Stoopid was OK. Agreed. First half of that album was brilliant and the second half was so-so. hey stoopid, love's a loaded gun, snakebite, burning our bed, might as well be on mars, feed my frankenstein...awesome...the other half...kind of repetitive and bland. "Might As Well Be On Mars" and "Snakebite" had a 'Rush' kind of sound to it...then I find that the producer worked with Rush on a couple of their albums.

But yeah, if you ever see it at a secondhand shop or a flea market, Dragontown is a pretty good album seeing it's newer Alice (2001, I believe).

Sounds good man. After 1993 I pretty much quit buying music because it was all either grundge, one hit wonders, and everyone in the 80's dissolved. I'm glad you know where I'm comming from.

I listened the past couple nights and liked what I heard. There's actual VARIETY on that station. At last listen, I was glad to hear 'Spirit of Radio' by Rush. Here...the only Rush they blast is the oft-overplayed 'tom sawyer' and nothing more. Ditto with Aerosmith and 'Dream On'.

I'll have to listen regularly when I'm doing homework. Other than mix cd's or other albums, I can't stand the radio here...too many top 40 stations (aka same 5 songs...) and not even airplay of lesser-known hits.

Mag, Elvis in mint = you could retire right now...or at least make some good bank.

I have some old Elvis 45's. I have 'Blue Moon' (what was that...about '55-'56?), King Creole and Are You Lonesome Tonight? Sad part is they are playable but the surface noise kills off them being bank :(

The only problem with selling LP's: The 'scarcity' factor. I've learned that if there's some weird little difference, people will pay big bucks - such as a 'white label' / promo album. I seriously wish I had one in my collection I decided to sell and found out it was worth about 40 grand...just like that guy who sold that 'Stadium Events' on E-Bay and scored some good cash.

That  'Scary Tales' album I'm getting bids on at E-Bay cost me a dime at Salvation Army. I thought it was going to be stupid (and believe me, it is pretty cheesy) but it's already up to $4.24 and 15 people watching it. It'd be king to have a 15 person bidding war in the last hour and have a 10-cent album jacked up to $100 or so.

But seriously, if your in-laws ever decide to throw them out, you have stumbled upon quite the treasure. You could wipe your ass with 50's and smile about it.

I know that. When I was in their attic the last couple of years helping put there Christmas tree away, I've been flipping through them. They have alot of Elvis shit. No lie. I actually belive that they have that 40 grand one. The name sounds fammilar, because I kinda flip through them as fast as "casually" possible.

I swear to God man. I know they don't listen to them, but I know if I ask to take em, they'll ask why. With the way they are, they probably wouldn't like the idea untill they see the $$$$. I'm just working out how to word it so I can get my hands on them, and see what comes next.

I think I'd blow my brains out if they said they threw them away. I also know they have alot of other records in there too. It's like litterally walking into the 40's-50's-60's again.

lol same here, man. I had a co-worker who moved into a house where an old lady lived. She found some Elvis gospel LP's and donated them to Goodwill or some shit. I asked her 'What? Were they in bad shape?' 'No mint condition, I'd say. hardly a scratch'. My jaw dropped and I felt like saying 'you fucked up big time...'

But yeah, I hope you get them. I just had my wife go to her work and talk music with the receptionist - the receptionists husband is going to give me some boxes filled with 70's classic rock LP's. Like you said, if they're just collecting dust and no one is playing them, why not give them to someone who collects and loves music? He supposedly was offered over 1k for them a few years ago and he turned it down...now he's married and settled down and sees that 'this generation' appreciates music...so I should be getting them next week.

The one way you could possibly and honestly obtain their collection is just by offering to buy them. Since its family, they'll usually just let you have some or all of it - I offered my grandma $100 for around 30 old-school country LP's (I'm talking old country...like Porter Wagoner, George Jones..) and she just said that I was family and that I could just have them - "I'm not playing them" was her reason.

If you somehow do, just be sure to invest in a Sony turntable - I bought my stepson one for $35 on E-Bay (around $55 with S/H) and make sure they sound good. I had one that looked mint..and when it played, holy shit...it sounded like someone farting while choking on fruit loops - warped as fuck.

Yea...you have a point. They have been in the attic, and I know for a fact it gets quite warm up there in the summers. Aww shit man. They've been up there for who the fuck knows how long. Knowing my damn luck, they won't be worth shit because they'd be warped. I forgot how sensitive those things used to be to temps.

I'll definately work a plan though. If I can get some kind of money from it, WTF ya know? It's sorta free.

Sony turntable. Saw some on E-Bay. Gonna have to look into it.

My mother-in-law gave the blessing to take them and see what we could do with all that vynil they have. All I need to do is buy a decent camera, and get that turntable if nessiccary. I think they actually have one. We'll see. She said she was thinking about selling them but, she didn't know how to go about it. They're over 65, and not very comp knowlegable.

They also haven't been in the attic like I thought when I saw them. It was a different box. They set them up there for a few days, to make room for painting the room they have been sitting in all that time. I helped a little. Dry, cool, and in covers on edge. So for decades they just been in a large box, chilling out till whenever.  8-)

Maybe within the next month, I can get the ball rolling and get some bank to help my family out. I did say that if we get a substantial amount from any sales, we'll split it 50/50.

and it's a concept album. This is literally the most overblown power metal this side of blind guardian. It's good stuff though, just...alot of it. Here's a sample.

This reply goes out to the one and ONLY THE Dim Shades. Considering that it was you who motivated me to at least get the box of vinyl, and bring them home......I have done exactly that today. It's a big box full of 45's and another box of 33's. There are easily 50 albums of 33's, and easily that many in 45's

Now I know alot of the names in the box. Here are the ones I think garner some attention. I'm discribing the condition of the actuall vinyl itsself. Some of the covers are aged but in great condition. Some still in the original plastic.

Johnny Cash -- Sings The Songs That Made Him Famous

Condition-- Excellent

Al Martino -- Spanish Eyes

Condition-- Excellent

Tom Jones -- Funny Familiar Forgotton Feelings

Condition-- Excellent

Sonny James -- Your The Only World I Know/ Never Find Another You (

Condition-- Mint 2 album set.

Elvis Presley-- in a Hal Wallis Production, King Creole Original Picture Sound Track

Condition--Fair  Condition. Some small scratches.

Elvis Presly -- Harum Scarum Original Picture Sound Track
Condition -- Excellent

I have 3 Dean Martin's -- Everybody Loves Somebody, (Good) Happiness Is, (Excellent) (Remember Me) I'm The One Who Loves You. (Good)

3 Al Hirt's -- All Excellent.

Julio Igesias -- 1100 Bel Air Place --Mint

Frankie Avalon-- A Whole Lotta Frankie -- Fair

2 Ray Price's -- Welcome to My World, (2 album set--Excellent) For the Good Times (Mint)

2 Engelbert Humperdink's-- Release me, (Good) The Last Waltz (Fair)

That's a small sample to be honest. They also have the original 2001 Space Oddessy, Saturday Night Fever, and quite a few others. Also the 4th Quarter and Overtime of "The Greatest Game Ever Played" on a 45. It's to bad that isn't in good condition. I'm surprized it even exists.

What say you Dim Shades?

::::EDIT:::::: Well......after doing some goolge serching, it's a bit disheartening. It doesn't look like much of this stuff will be worth much of anything. Hopefully we can sell some off to pay for the new camera we got.   :'(

Don't worry, Magnum. I'm in the same boat...my luck on ebay dried up. After I sold that Scary Tales for $23, lets just say I sold one more album for all of 0.99...and after that, no hits. I talked with people in the record selling community on Ebay and most have said the stuff I had was 'thrift store heaven'.

I tried cashing in about 30 of them to Vintage Stock and all I was offered was $7. Of course the bitch was too lazy to look through all of them...some had a light scratch or two and she goes "I'll give you no more than a dime for some of these!". I went to another VS down the road and got $6 for 2 of them (sold Neil Diamond - Jazz Singer and some Christopher Cross album).

If you really want to sell them, you could try sorting them into 'lots' or try selling them in one huge lot on E-Bay and hope to break even or make a little. My problem was that I was on a huge Ebay high when I sold that goofy, obscure record and thought I was walking down the red carpet...no, not happening.

Unless I magically run into about a million copies of that John Zacherly's "Scary Tales", I'm pretty much sitting on about 120 pieces of shit vinyl that won't sell individually.

But as the record selling posters on E-Bay told me, "Anything too mainstream or that has sold a ton will be worth peanuts." So, yeah...that Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass LP I thought might be worth a couple bucks is worth shit...along with about a dozen Streisand LP's.

now, are you counting 'Church of Realities' or the self-titled album as one of the first 2? cause alot of ppl dont know about that album.. if you count it, then the first 3 were awesome, with 'Broke' being the last one. 'Insomnia' is alright.. not as good as I had hoped. they seem to have went into a more punk rock direction with that one, and it felt awkward to listen to. 'Suffa' is the best track on there by far

New World Orphans came out not too long ago. I havent heard too much from it aside from 'Renegade', which is a good song. another good song of theirs, say you wanna get hyper for whatever reason, play 'Raise Hell'... thats a fight song, a drive song, a pit song..

At my bar, bands with female lead singers do not keep people in for more than a couple of hours. I can kind of understand why. Especailly at the club. you can only do so many cover songs with a female vocallist before you start to really play some annoying songs.

honestly dude, to me, kittie seemed like just a novelty act, especially  after slipknot , and im not a big fan euro metal, i dig the spontaneous, raw, groove based sound of the self titled slipknot album. it really is the perfect hardcore album. it just sucks that corey went from all that explosive anger to wallowing in self pitty, theres no excuse for that shit, its one thing to have a moment but then you gotta swell your shoulders, wrinkle your nose, tighten your lips, grab life by the throat and beat that fucker down until its under your feet again. thats the new slipknot album i wanna hear.

Circus Maximus - Isolate

Forgot how good this CD is though still not as good as their debut album. They have a great overall sound. Almost on par with Dream Theater in that department. Great heavy tone, grooves, riffs, and atmosphere.

Dave Mathews - Drive In, Drive Out

Loved Dave Matthews Band when their first album Under the Table and Dreaming came out back when I was in middle school. Man, that seems like forever ago. Since though they've only gone down hill but they still have a good song every now and again. Drive In, Drive Out is one of their better songs in my opinion. Still like their drummer Carter Beauford no matter what though.

Under the table and dreaming & crash were both good albums , the stone was the only song from before these crowded streets i managed to like though and i never heard anything after that by them that i liked.
