Fuck Online Modes for TMPS3.

They should just carry on what TMBO had, and implement them into TMPS3.

That mode was in TMBO. Manhunt wasn't to bad a mode. I liked it.

They should include very basic modes like manhunt again and just add the team option. We came up with enough game types on our own with practically nothing so I say instead of new modes just give us total control over everything in the game. What weapons are available, healths, car selection, round time. If we have control over things we can keep the game balanced like we did in TMBO unless they decided to put some time and effort into balance patches like they should.

I'm all for customization, but do remember that they are going to try to grow the audience, naturally, so there should definitely be some really good pre-set modes for the new players.

The players who just jump in a game should ideally have a good first experience with the game. As opposed to something like a 3 on 1 machine gun only match on a huge level with infinite AA, etc. I hate to bring up unlimited weapons games, but it really is the result of them wanting to add options for the players, and we all know how that turned out. The problem is that some people just can't make a fun, balanced match to save their life, and if you give that power to everybody, you'll probably get a lot of these kinds of people making games, thinking that they know what they are doing.

Also, what if there is a matchmaking + ranking system like Halo and Call of Duty? these games force people to play under the same rules in order to be on a level playing field while they "rank up". How would customization work in that scenario?

I thought TMHO had a pretty good balance of options personally - they corrected some of the problems from TMBO, such as adding in-game team modes, relic timers, health on/off etc. I assume they will add a lot of modes, but I think that's a pretty good jumping-off point.

If we're just talking from a selfish perspective, I'm all for an infinite amount of customization for all the TM fans of TMA to be able to adjust / balance everything how they want it, and I'm sure there will be some of that. But how far will they go with it?

I hope we won't have to balance too much ourselves, as I assume they will be supporting it with patches. That said, there was always some level of disagreement within TMA about what was and wasn't cheap, and if you add in all the tons of new players who may have a skewed / inexperienced perspective, there may be a lot of mixed feedback. Hopefully they'll look to TMA for balance concerns though (crosses fingers)

Great reply. Agree with alot of what you said.

I'm sure Jaffe has looked into TMA and gleamed quite a few ideas from it. I'm sure noone would mind if he used them.

It's going to be hard to see how really NOOB/casual players in the TM world handle the new game. Esspecially with custonization.

LOOK MA!!! I HAVE INFINATE AMMO!!!!

Whatever happens, its been quite a while since an online TM was released and the online aspect of gaming has grown to epic proportions so Im pretty sure by now Jaffe and crew are going to have a pretty good idea of what people want in an online TM game or just online games period. I have no doubt we will be blown away by whats in store and I know they will make the right decisions.

All I want is just the basics that any FPS or online game has....customization. I want team modes galore, I want to be able to allow or not allow certain cars to be selectable, and I want to be able to tweak what weapons, pick-ups, and Relics (if there are still Relics) are on that map.

Other than that I think the coolest thing to have would be a level editor. Being able to create your own maps or at least change the layout of the maps already in the game, much like Halos forge mode, would leave endless possibilities for gametypes and modes and replayability.
