I'd have to say my all time favorites are Snowy Roads, ambience for Suburbs, Skyscrapers, WarHawk's Rooftop, stage 3 from TM1, & Moscow Suicide Slide. Mind you both TM1 & TMB both became creepy once you were isolated.

For a more current post about the film, I'd like to discuss what I think the film should be like:

Vivid colors and haze-like structures running with deep, static-like illuminations for visuals, like a futuristic vibe. Glimmers and dark gleams like Bloody Mary's ending segment. Motion like a dense dream, with gravity seeming less, like it was in Twisted Metal: Black. The film should be reminiscent of an acid trip like TM2 (the sky being stellar with orange dusk & deep purple morning). There should be highly saturated rustic browns, hot meshing pinks with shiney blacks and greys along florescent blues like the base of a flame mixed with rustic whites.

I can't stress that the film should have horror elements enough. Dream-like action sequences to spur peoples minds into a world of psychedelic mayhem. Some color bleeding and dripping characteristics in subtle animations, remember, we are staring through the eyes of psychopaths. The sun should have ripples of fiery light in the sky, skimming along the horizon like a mouth or "eye" (of marcus kane) taking everything in as if it's all in his head. Think; visible ultra-violet light on everything! Thin purple, red blackish smoke reflecting vague images of faces of terror like a radioactive aftermath. All things are dilapidated and withering in the chaos and being grotesquely contorted by the "mind", out of control. Eclipses of the sun even to draw more foreboding effects!

We should be under the notion that every character in the film is possessed by a demon or multitude thereof.

Eerie walkways like the asylum from BLACK, very sci-fi horror meets twilight zone meetsNo Country For Old Men.

Music: Unholy BMX Fights the Nod from Agoraphobic Nosebleed. If you have the volition to listen to metal influenced music.
I also think if you look up Nemertines on youtube you will find the perfect Twisted Metal music with songs like "upwards", "scarlet" and "maki". Sony Pictures should employ this man, this genius, for he is making gold that exudes Twisted Metal in his album Bad Blood! Fuck! Look it up

Respectfully, I am still enthralled by the on-foot segments despite it's origin of desperation. GTA clone or not, it still would have been distinguished. I must say though; that it is disappointing that the dev team was going to fortify the colorful world instead of keeping it BLACK. I'm tired of the colorful world now, TMX gave me my fix, ready for a return to darkness!

I wonder what was so difficult about the TMHC material, I know it's dated & the team modifying it for ETE were new to it, those could be the sole principals.

I knew some of the cars didn't fit in the prototype, they look good though, like they could have been unlockables.

The Death (and Future?) Of Twisted Metal- by Jaffe

Don't care for customization as much as focus towards game mechanics, level design and vehicle physics. That's what makes a Twisted Metal game. In TMX the physics were null and banal while TMB saw the most interesting physics engine functionality the franchise has ever seen. TMX car physics are calibrated specifically for the gameplay premise they had in mind from the start of development. Yes we like using our vehicles like jets, but at least make the cars interesting to drive and challenging to master, forget the pick up and play approach, seriously.

No one plays a game like TM because it's easy. Driving is the first thing you learn in a TM game, mastering the way vehicles act under various stresses; if you mitigate the learning process involved with that, it takes away part of the spectacle and skill that run together as the same thing.

I like the idea of tire tread decrepitude in TM, I honestly wouldn't mind a little more realism.

If they do another single-player story for TM, I do hope they break those fucking chains and open the world up and drench it in atmosphere like they were going to do in Harbor City, otherwise it's a huge step back and disregard for innovative development.

On-foot included. Those who dissent towards the on-foot portion don't have to play it, but who would refuse murdering people with the iron fists of a psychotic clown?
